Get out of town with these interesting Quetzaltenango side-trips: Fuentes Georginas (in Zunil) and Xetulul Theme Park (in Retalhuleu). Traveling by car from Santiago Atitlan to Quetzaltenango takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and shuttle. Traveling from Santiago Atitlan in September, expect Quetzaltenango to be a bit cooler, temps between 24°C and 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Mon) to allow time to take a bus to Guatemala City.
