Located at the confluence of the Moselle and the Seille rivers bordering Luxembourg and Germany, Metz has a cultural confluence as well with a merging of its French and German heritage and military traditions.
La Cour d'Or and Place de la Comedie are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get some historical perspective at Porte des Allemands and Eglise Saint Martin de Sillegny. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Metz: Eglise Saint Jacques (in Reims), Epernay (Champagne Janisson Baradon et Fils, Paul-Etienne Saint Germain, &more) and Camp Marguerre (in Loison). Getting from Metz to Trier by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 25°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Luxembourg City.

While Luxembourg City boasts the shiny headquarters of several European institutions and EU offices, it is also home to a beautiful old town that's designated as a World Heritage Site.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like National Museum of Art and History (Musee National d'Histoire et d'Art) and MNHM National Museum of Military History. Do some cultural sightseeing at Beaufort Castles and Sandweiler German Military Cemetery, Luxembourg. Traveling by car from Trier to Luxembourg City takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle; or take a train. In June, daytime highs in Luxembourg City are 25°C, while nighttime lows are 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) early enough to travel to Arlon.

Arlon is a Walloon municipality of Belgium located in and capital of the province of Luxembourg. Get outdoors at Parc de Furfooz and The Giant's Tomb (Tombeau du Geant). December 44 Historical Museum and Reg Jans Battlefield Experience - Day Tours are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Musee du Coticule (in Salmchateau), Point de vue sur Frahan (in Rochehaut) and Baugnez 44 Historical Centre (in Malmedy).
