Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. Family-friendly places like Treetop Trek and South Lakes Safari Zoo will thrill your kids. Situated on the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York has witnessed an abundance of major political events throughout its two millennia of existence.
On the 8th (Thu), get in on the family fun at York Maze, then admire the striking features of York Minster, and then go for a walk through York City Walls. On your second day here, examine the collection at Jorvik Viking Centre and then get to know the resident critters at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
