More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Step Pyramid of Djoser and Statue of Ramesses II. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cairo: Giza (Pyramids of Giza, Great Sphinx, & more). And it doesn't end there: explore the ancient world of Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids, browse the exhibits of Oum El Dounia Gallery, steep yourself in history at El-Selehdar Mosque, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Mosque of Ibn Tulun.

To find other places to visit, traveler tips, photos, and tourist information, read Cairo trip itinerary builder website .

Brussels, Belgium to Cairo is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Brussels to Cairo due to the time zone difference. Plan for warmer temperatures traveling from Brussels in March, with highs in Cairo at 29°C and lows at 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Thu) early enough to travel to Abu Simbel.
