Dresden boasts a long history as a royal residence of many Saxon kings.

Rome, Italy to Dresden is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Rome in February: high temperatures in Dresden hover around 5°C and lows are around -1°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Leipzig.

Getting from Dresden to Leipzig by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. February in Leipzig sees daily highs of 6°C and lows of -1°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
