Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Attractions like Nyhavn and Tivoli Gardens make great kid-friendly stops. There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Denmark, wander the streets of Stroeget, take in panoramic vistas at Rundetarn, and explore the historical opulence of Rosenborg Castle.

Brussels, Belgium to Copenhagen is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 26°C in July, and nighttime lows around 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) to allow enough time to take a train to Odense.

The capital of the island of Funen, Odense represents the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, who penned such classics as "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling." Denmark's third-largest city proudly displays its link to the famous writer with museums, sculptures, and public art installations dedicated to Andersen and his stories.
Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): see the interesting displays at H. C. Andersens House, then learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Odense ZOO, then step into the grandiose world of Egeskov Castle, and finally take an in-depth tour of The Danish Railway Museum.

Take a train from Copenhagen to Odense in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In July, daytime highs in Odense are 24°C, while nighttime lows are 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Aarhus.

Located on the sea, Aarhus blends a world city with a small-town feel. Home to a young population, the city has a reputation for producing internationally known pop and rock musicians.
Bring the kids along to Aros Aarhus Kunstmuseum and Moesgaard Museum. When in Aarhus, make a side trip to see Faarup Sommerland in Blokhus, approximately 2 hours away. There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Den Gamle By, find something for the whole family at Modelpark Denmark, enjoy the sand and surf at Ballehage Strand, and get to know the fascinating history of Old Town in Aarhus.

Getting from Odense to Aarhus by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a train; or take a bus. In July, daytime highs in Aarhus are 25°C, while nighttime lows are 14°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Thu) so you can drive to Billund.

Billund centers around everything LEGGO, as the seat of the internationally renowed company's headquarters (and also home to the Billund airport, built by the LEGGO company).
Kick off your visit on the 24th (Fri): let the kids burn off some steam at LEGO House and then meet the residents at Rovfugleshow. Keep things going the next day: get in on the family fun at LEGOLAND Billund and then make a splash at Lalandia.
