Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Step off the beaten path and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Iglesia Catolica de Playas del Coco. We've included these beaches for you: Tamarindo Beach and Playa Avellana. Go for a jaunt from Tamarindo to Playa Flamingo to see Stand-Up Paddleboarding about 30 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: pause for some serene contemplation at Tamarindo Church, explore and take pictures at Pura Aventura, and get a taste of the local shopping with Lydia Beech Art Boutique.

Discover out-of-the-way places like Reserva Bosque Nuboso Santa Elena and Monteverde Butterfly Garden (Jardin de Mariposas). Santa Teresa

A coastal getaway popular with surfers and young travelers, Santa Teresa spreads out from the beach and the main coastal road to a ring of newer developments on the surrounding hills.
Kick off your visit on the 11th (Fri): soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers and then kick back and relax at Playa Hermosa. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: stroll through Playa Santa Teresa, stop by Tica Surf Bikinis, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Carmen.
