Durango

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Explore hidden gems such as Million Dollar Highway and Purgatory Resort. Take a break from the city and head to Off-Road Tours and Horseback Riding Tours. There's much more to do: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour, and trek along Animas River Trail.

An internationally known ski resort, Steamboat Springs sits in the shadow of Mount Werner in north central Colorado.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Mon): take in nature's colorful creations at Yampa River Botanic Park, then get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, and then hit the slopes at Steamboat Gondola. Glenwood Springs occupies a scenic location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River, halfway between Vail and Aspen along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Rocky Mountains and Horseback Riding Tours. Take a break from the city and head to River Rafting & Tubing and Zipline. Go for a jaunt from Glenwood Springs to Rifle to see Rifle Falls about 44 minutes away.
