Horta is a single municipality and city in the western part of the Archipelago of the Azores, encompassing the island of Faial. As the busy capital of São Miguel, Ponta Delgada represents the most visited place on the island. Known for its historical buildings, the city offers 17th- and 18th-century convents and churches, as well as cobbled pedestrian streets and hidden squares.

Fly from Horta to Ponta Delgada in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and flight; or ride a ferry. In August, daily temperatures in Ponta Delgada can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. You will have some time to spend on the 26th (Wed) before leaving for home.
