Arnhem is known mostly for its John Frost Bridge, which the British tried to secure during World War II.
Get in touch with nature at Nationaal Park Veluwezoom and Nationaal Park Weerribben-Wieden. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Bussloo and Beldert Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Arnhem: UNESCO World Heritafe Ir. D.F. Woudagemaal (in Lemmer), Maastricht (Fort Sint Pieter, Helpoort, & more) and Kasteeltuinen Arcen (in Arcen). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at De Wonderlijke Klim, admire the masterpieces at Jheronimus Bosch Art Center, step into the grandiose world of Kasteel Hoensbroek, and look for all kinds of wild species at Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen.

To see reviews, other places to visit, photos, and tourist information, you can read our Arnhem road trip planner .

If you are flying in from Sweden, the closest major airports are Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Eindhoven Airport and Maastricht Aachen Airport. In June, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
