Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Narryna Heritage Museum and Salamanca Arts Centre. Take a break from the city and head to Raptor Refuge and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. When in Hobart, make a side trip to see Tahune Forest AirWalk in Geeveston, approximately Geeveston away. Spend the 18th (Sat) exploring nature at Hartz Mountains National Park. There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Kingston Beach, admire the masterpieces at Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington, and wander the streets of North Hobart.

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Visiting Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay will get you outdoors. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Friendly Beaches and Honeymoon Bay. Take a break from Coles Bay with a short trip to Melshell Oyster Shack in Dolphin Sands, about 48 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse and walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout.

Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Get outdoors at Cataract Gorge Reserve and Tamar Island Wetlands. Museum-lovers will get to explore National Automobile Museum of Tasmania and Deloraine & Districts Folk Museum.
