Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Start off your visit on the 11th (Tue): stop by The Granite House, appreciate the history behind Commando Monument, then take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall, and finally take in the awesome beauty at Ben Nevis. On the next day, see the interesting displays at West Highland Museum, then don't miss a visit to Glenfinnan Viaduct, then don't miss a visit to Neptune's Staircase, and finally take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Nevis Range Mountain Resort.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Fort William is an approximately 21-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone changes from Brasilia Time (BRT) to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is usually a 3 hour difference. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to drive to Isle of Skye.
