Beaches · Swim with Dolphins · Kayaking & Canoeing
A trip to Riviera Nayarit takes you to a scenic stretch of coastline between the port of San Blas and the mouth of the Ameca River. Increasingly popular with foreign travelers looking to get away from overcrowded Cancun or Cabo, this section of the eponymous state boasts nearly 320 km (200 mi) of sandy beaches, upscale resorts, and quiet towns mostly frequented by impassioned surfers and backpackers. Although the area continues to develop its infrastructure to satisfy the growing number of tourists, you can still easily escape the crowds during your Riviera Nayarit vacation by visiting the deserted beaches just north of Nuevo Vallarta.
