Originally a small fishing village, Portimão today serves as one of the most populated towns in the Algarve and also a favorite spot for sailing.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Portimao: Dolphin & Whale Watching (in Albufeira), Falesia Beach (in Olhos de Agua) and Ponta Da Piedale (in Lagos). There's much more to do: stroll through Praia Da Rocha, take a leisurely stroll along Carvoeiro Boardwalk, get in on the family fun at Zoomarine Algarve, and kick back and relax at Praia dos Tres Irmaos.

Toronto, Canada to Portimao is an approximately 12-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Start off your visit on the 30th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of Evora (Se Catedral de Evora), delve into the distant past at Centro Historico de Evora, take in the spiritual surroundings of Capela dos Ossos, then don't miss a visit to Praca do Giraldo, then explore the ancient world of Cromeleque dos Almendres, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Igreja de Sao Francisco. On the next day, don't miss a visit to Walls of Evora, enjoy the scholastic atmosphere at University of Evora, take in the spiritual surroundings of Templo Romano de Evora (Templo de Diana), then contemplate the long history of Aqueduto da Agua de Prata, and finally explore the historical opulence of Monsaraz Castle and Walls.

Traveling by car from Portimao to Evora takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. Traveling from Portimao in October, plan for little chillier nights in Evora, with lows around 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Thu) early enough to drive to Lisbon.

Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Get out of town with these interesting Lisbon side-trips: Sintra (Park and National Palace of Pena, Quinta da Regaleira, & more). And it doesn't end there: take a stroll through Belém Tower, explore the historical opulence of Castelo de S. Jorge, pause for some photo ops at Padrao dos Descobrimentos, and take in the exciting artwork at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian.

You can drive from Evora to Lisbon in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In October, daily temperatures in Lisbon can reach 28°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Mon) so you can travel to Porto.

Porto

Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Porto is known for historic sites, nightlife, shopping, nature, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: snap pictures at Ponte de Dom Luis I, take a stroll around Palacio da Bolsa, go for a stroll along the water at Cais da Ribeira, and indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area.

Traveling by flight from Lisbon to Porto takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. In November in Porto, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 10°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 7th (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.
