A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum and Pittock Mansion. Take a break from the city and head to Multnomah Falls and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. There's still lots to do: admire the natural beauty at Portland Japanese Garden, look for gifts at Powell's City of Books, get outside with Portland Timbers, and meet the residents at Oregon Zoo.

Many urban centers call themselves "Garden City," but thanks to its many manicured parks filled with native and exotic plants, Victoria probably deserves than moniker more than most.
Visit Inner Harbour and Emily Carr House for their historical value. Let the collections at Royal BC Museum and Victoria Butterfly Gardens capture your imagination. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at The Butchart Gardens, step into the grandiose world of Craigdarroch Castle, admire the striking features of British Columbia Legislature, and stop by Beehive Wool Shop.

Getting from Portland to Victoria by flight takes about 5.5 hours. Other options: fly; or do a combination of car and ferry. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Portland in May: highs in Victoria hover around 60°F, while lows dip to 50°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Tue) to allow time to fly to Whistler.

Home to one of the largest ski areas in North America, former logging town of Whistler provides activities and entertainment for avid nature lovers and adrenaline seekers.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Wed): ski along the peaceful trails at Whistler Blackcomb and then take some stellar pictures from Peak 2 Peak Gondola.
