In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Duomo di Milano and Villa Necchi Campiglio. Step off the beaten path and head to Santuario della Consolata and Mura Venete. Venture out of the city with trips to Turin (Church of San Lorenzo & Cappella dei Banchieri e dei Mercanti) and Bergamo (Campanone o Torre Civica, Cattedrale (Duomo) di Bergamo e Battistero, &more). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di Santa Maria presso San Satiro, explore the world behind art at Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, contemplate the long history of Chiesa di San Bernardino alle Ossa, and admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
