Step off the beaten path and head to Dzongdrakha Monastry and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Get a sense of the local culture at Ugyen Pema Woedling Zangthopelri and Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche Memorial House. Thimphu, Bhutan

The kingdom's capital and most modern city, Thimphu offers a mix of ancient traditions and modern commercialism.
Kick off your visit on the 26th (Thu): cruise along Dochula Pass and then pause for some photo ops at Kuenselphodrang. Keep things going the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Motithang Takin Preserve and then look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas.
