Take a break from Almaty with a short trip to Lake Issyk in Esik, about 1h 40 min away. And it doesn't end there: get great views at Kok-Tobe Hill, stroll around First President's Park, get outside with Shymbulak Ski Resort, and pause for some serene contemplation at Ascension Cathedral.
