Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
You've now added Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden to your itinerary. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Asakusa Shrine and Hokokuji Temple (Takedera Temple). Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Pola Museum of Art and Kitchen Town (Kappabashi). Venture out of the city with trips to Kamakura (Kencho-ji Temple, Meigetsuin (Hydrangea Temple), & more) and Mitsumine Shrine (Chichibu) (in Chichibu). Start off your visit on the 1st (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kennin-ji Temple and then contemplate the long history of Sanjusangendo Temple.
