You'll explore and learn at Tokyo National Museum and Edo-Tokyo Museum. Do your shopping at Ginza and Takeshita Street. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tokyo: Ghibli Museum Mitaka (in Mitaka) and Yokohama Nature Sanctuary (in Sakae). The adventure continues: take a stroll through Odaiba, examine the collection at The Gallery of Horyuji Treasures, make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Sensō-ji.

A resort town located in the foothills of Mount Fuji, Fujikawaguchiko-machi acts as a base for many who plan to take one of the trails up the iconic volcano.
Appreciate the collections at The Hakone Open-Air Museum and Ivory Craft Museum. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Mount Fuji and Narukawa Art Museum. Take a break from Fujikawaguchiko-machi with a short trip to Nature & Wildlife Tours in Fuji, about 1h 15 min away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Kawaguchi and explore the striking landscape of Fuji Hakone Izu National Park.

You'll explore and learn at Kyoto National Museum and Todaiji Temple Cultural Center. For shopping fun, head to Dotonbori or Daimaru Museum Umeda. Change things up with these side-trips from Kyoto: Nara Park (in Nara) and Osaka Castle (in Osaka). Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, and take a stroll through Gion.

You can drive from Fujikawaguchiko-machi to Kyoto in 4.5 hours. Other options are to do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of bus and flight. While traveling from Fujikawaguchiko-machi, expect somewhat warmer days and about the same nights in Kyoto, ranging from highs of 13°C to lows of 4°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) so you can take a train to Himeji.
