Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Appreciate the collections at Tokyo National Museum and The Gallery of Horyuji Treasures. Your inner history buff will appreciate Senso-ji Temple and Imperial Palace. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Odaiba District, make a trip to Meiji Jingu Shrine, take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and take an in-depth tour of Edo-Tokyo Museum.

Traveling from Bucharest in March, plan for a bit warmer nights in Tokyo, with lows around °C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sat) so you can catch the train to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get outdoors at Nara Park and Kyoto Isshu Trail, Higahiyama Fuahimi Inari Course. Appreciate the collections at Todaiji Temple Cultural Center and Mizuno Sportology Gallery. Venture out of the city with trips to Dotombori District (in Dotombori) and Nara (Todai-ji Temple & Nigatsu-do Temple). The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, take a stroll through Gion, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanjusangendo Temple, and explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kyoto takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. March in Kyoto sees daily highs of °C and lows of °C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Thu) to allow time to take a train to Hiroshima.

On the 27th (Fri), steep yourself in history at Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima and then get engrossed in the history at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. On the 28th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at Atomic Bomb Dome, admire the masterpieces at Hiroshima Museum of Art, and then step off the mainland to explore Miyajima.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Hiroshima in 2.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In March, daytime highs in Hiroshima are °C, while nighttime lows are °C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
