An island town, capital of the landlocked region of Peten, attractive Flores features pleasant architecture that complements the shimmering appearance of the surrounding lake.
Explore hidden gems such as Cultural Triangle Yaxha-Nakum-Naranjo National Park and Actún Can. Dos Pilas and Sitio Arqueologico Tayazal will appeal to history buffs. Take a break from Flores with a short trip to Cerro Biotope Cahui in El Remate, about 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: get outside with Mirador del Rey Canek.

On the 7th (Tue), head outdoors with Parque Ecologico Chuiraxamolo, then pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia Catolica de San Juan La Laguna, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of St Peter, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Galeria Imox. Museo de los Ninos de Guatemala and Convento Santa Clara are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll discover tucked-away gems like La Recoleccion and Museo Popol Vuh. Step out of Guatemala City to go to Jocotenango and see La Azotea, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. The adventure continues: examine the collection at Museo Ixchel del Traje Indigena, walk around Cerrito del Carmen, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at La Merced, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia Yurrita.
