Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
On the 4th (Sat), view the masterpieces at Toh-Atin Gallery, thendo a tasting at Four Leaves Winery, thenlet the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour, and finally examine the collection at Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum.

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Wed): explore the galleries of Molly Brown House Museum, get curious at Butterfly Pavilion and Insect Center, thentake in the awesome beauty at Flagstaff Mountain, and finally grab your bike and head to Boulder Creek Path. On the 9th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the landmark architecture of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, thensee the interesting displays at National Ballpark Museum, and finally sample the tasty concoctions at Great Divide Brewery.

An internationally known ski resort, Steamboat Springs sits in the shadow of Mount Werner in north central Colorado.
