Pagosa Springs is a municipality that is the county seat of, and the only incorporated municipality in, Archuleta County, Colorado, United States. Start off your visit on the 19th (Sun): contemplate the waterfront views at San Juan River Walk, then see the interesting displays at San Juan Historical Museum, and then let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour. Keep things going the next day: tour the pleasant surroundings at Piedra River Trail, explore by horseback at Diamond Hitch Stables, then relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and finally view the masterpieces at Lantern Dancer.

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Visiting Off-Road Tours and Zipline will get you outdoors. Museum-lovers will get to explore Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum and Toh-Atin Gallery. There's lots more to do: relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, tour the pleasant surroundings at Animas River Trail, and hit the slopes at Purgatory Resort.

Getting from Pagosa Springs to Durango by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a shuttle. July in Durango sees daily highs of 86°F and lows of 54°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Thu) so you can drive to Ouray.

Ouray is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Ouray County, Colorado, United States. Museum-lovers will appreciate Ouray Alchemist Museum and Ouray County Museum. Step off the beaten path and head to Yankee Boy Basin and Perimeter Trail. Get out of town with these interesting Ouray side-trips: Silverton (San Juan County Historical Society & Ice Lakes Trailhead). There's still lots to do: indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, trek along Cascade Falls Park, admire the majestic nature at Ridgway State Park, and take in the dramatic scenery at Bear Creek Falls.

When traveling from Durango in July, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Ouray: temperatures range from 74°F by day to 52°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) so you can go by car to Glenwood Springs.

Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs occupies a scenic location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Roaring Fork River, halfway between Vail and Aspen along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Get outdoors at River Rafting & Tubing and Horseback Riding Tours. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Hanging Lake and Maroon Lake Scenic Trail. Explore Glenwood Springs' surroundings by going to Aspen (Rio Grande Trail & Off-Road Tours). There's much more to do: whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, explore the stunning scenery at Glenwood Canyon Bike Trail, and test the waters at a local thermal spa.

Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can go by car to Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Springs

An internationally known ski resort, Steamboat Springs sits in the shadow of Mount Werner in north central Colorado.
Kick off your visit on the 30th (Thu): tour the pleasant surroundings at Steamboat Gondola, get the adrenaline pumping with an extreme tour, and then admire the natural beauty at Yampa River Botanic Park. Keep things going the next day: take a peaceful walk through Routt National Forest, get interesting insight from Tours, then get your bearings at Tread of Pioneers Museum, and finally hike along Yampa River Core Trail.
