Garden City

Recovering from the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 was no easy task, but Christchurch has faced the challenges with aplomb.
For shopping fun, head to Little River Gallery or Christchurch Art Gallery (Te Puna o Waiwhetu). Take a break from the city and head to Dolphin & Whale Watching and Leithfield Beach. There's lots more to do: admire the natural beauty at Christchurch Botanic Gardens, go from sight to sight with Christchurch Gondola, take an in-depth tour of Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities, and enjoy some diversion at Margaret Mahy Family Playground.
