Start off your visit on the 20th (Mon): enjoy the sand and surf at Crescent Beach and then get a taste of the local shopping with Granville Island. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Sanjusangendo Temple, then explore the historical opulence of Nijo Castle, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Ryoanji Temple, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kinkaku-ji.
