Known as one of the greatest small cities in the world, Amsterdam charms visitors with its cool and cozy atmosphere.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Efteling and Zaanse Schans. There's much more to do: take an in-depth tour of Van Gogh Museum, admire the masterpieces at Rijksmuseum, steep yourself in history at Museum Het Rembrandthuis (Rembrandt House), and get to know the fascinating history of Begijnhof.

Zurich, Switzerland to Amsterdam is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight; or drive. October in Amsterdam sees daily highs of 17°C and lows of 9°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Thu) so you can go by car to Bruges.

The medieval town of Bruges centers around a canal, and the architecture of its historical district has made it a World Heritage Site.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Menin Gate Memorial and Ghent City Center. Get out of town with these interesting Bruges side-trips: Tyne Cot Cemetery (in Zonnebeke) and In Flanders Fields Museum (in Ieper (Ypres)). There's lots more to do: make a trip to Burg Square, get to know the fascinating history of Beguinage (Begijnhof), explore the world behind art at Groeningemuseum, and explore the activities along Minnewater Lake.

Discover out-of-the-way places like Antwerpen-Centraal and Pairi Daiza.
