The capital of Wales, Cardiff is a very green city indeed, boasting more green space per person than any other place in the country.
On the 25th (Wed), examine the collection at St Fagans National Museum of History, learn more about the world around you at National Museum Cardiff, and then explore the historical opulence of Cardiff Castle. On your second day here, take in the exciting artwork at Y Galeri, then shop like a local with Workers Gallery & Workshops, then steep yourself in history at Big Pit National Coal Museum, and finally take a leisurely stroll along Cardiff Bay Wales.

Bristol to Cardiff is an approximately 1-hour train ride. You can also take a bus; or drive. In September, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Porthmadog.

Porthmadog, known locally as "Port", and since 1974, rendered into Welsh from its former Anglicised form, Portmadoc, is a small coastal town and community in the Eifionydd area of Gwynedd, in Wales. Step out of the city life by going to Morfa Bychan - Black Rock Sands and Barmouth Beach. Shop till you drop at Plas Glyn y Weddw and ​Barmouth RNLI Shop. And it doesn't end there: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Snowdon, contemplate the long history of Portmeirion Village, get a taste of the local shopping with Castle Gallery, and kick back and relax at Harlech Beach.
