George Town, Malaysia to Tokyo is an approximately 12- hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry, train, and flight. The time zone difference moving from Western Indonesia Time to Japan Standard Time is 2 hours. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from George Town in October, with highs in Tokyo at 26°C and lows at 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Mon) so you can travel to Osaka.

Kyoto is just a short distance from Osaka. October in Kyoto sees daily highs of 27°C and lows of 18°C at night. On the 10th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can take a train to Tokyo.
