On the bank of the Mtkvari River and at the foot of Trialeti mountain range, Tbilisi's location has given the city strategic significance since it was founded in the 5th century.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Tbilisi Funicular, Aerial Tramway in Tbilisi and Rustaveli Avenue. On the 17th (Fri), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, catch a ride on Tbilisi Funicular, find something for the whole family at Aerial Tramway in Tbilisi, then take in the views from The Bridge of Peace, and finally cruise along Rustaveli Avenue. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the historical opulence of Narikala Fortress and then indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour.

You can do a combination of bus and train from Yerevan to Baku in 19 hours. Other options are to fly; or take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Yerevan in April, plan for little chillier days and about the same nights in Baku: temperatures range from 19°C by day to 9°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
