Nantou provides good access to the cultural and natural sites of the surrounding county of the same name.
Kids will enjoy Sun Moon Lake and Wenwumiaohoushan Park. Step out of Nantou with an excursion to Gaomei Wetland in Qingshui--about 56 minutes away. Pack the 10th (Fri) with family-friendly diversions at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. There's much more to do: relax in the rural setting at Cingjing Veterans Farm, make a trip to Ci'en Pagoda, and steep yourself in history at Wenwu Temple.
