Seoul

One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
On the 21st (Wed), admire the landmark architecture of Changdeokgung Palace, then take a stroll through Bukchon Hanok Village, and then take an in-depth tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Keep things going the next day: wander the streets of Insadong, stroll through Cheonggyecheon Stream, and then shop like a local with Myeongdong Shopping Street.

Gangneung

A large coastal city, Gangneung has been historically separated from much of the country because of the long, stretching mountain range that runs parallel to the sea.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): kick back and relax at Anmok Beach, kick back and relax at Gyeongpo Beach, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Sacheonjin Beach. Keep things going the next day: enjoy the sand and surf at Jumunjin Beach, enjoy the sand and surf at Gangmun Beach, and then see the interesting displays at Ojukheon.

You can drive from Seoul to Gangneung in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Gyeongju.

Gyeongju

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, contemplate the long history of Seokguram, then steep yourself in history at Bulguksa Temple, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: contemplate the long history of Yangdong Folk Village, then contemplate the long history of Oksanseowon Confucian Academy, then contemplate the long history of Gyeongju Historic Area, and finally explore the activities along Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.

Traveling by car from Gangneung to Gyeongju takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In August in Gyeongju, expect temperatures between 26°C during the day and 26°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) so you can go by car to Busan.

Busan

The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Tue): enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach and then get outside with Gwangalli Beach.

You can drive from Gyeongju to Busan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. While traveling from Gyeongju, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Busan, ranging from highs of 36°C to lows of 27°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Tue) so you can travel to Jeju.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Hamdeok Beach and Hyeopjae Beach. Step out of the city life by going to Geumneung Eutteumwon Beach and Jeongbang Waterfall. Go for a jaunt from Jeju to Seogwipo to see Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff about 1h 5 min away.
