The landscape surrounding Catania, a medieval city on Sicily's eastern coast, is dominated by Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe.
Venture out of the city with trips to Taormina (Villa Comunale & Isola Bella), Centro Storico (in Noto) and Syracuse (Syracuse Cathedral, Ortigia, & more). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Piazza Duomo, admire the masterpieces at MUSEO CROCIFERI - Art and Chocolate, explore the ancient world of Villa Romana del Casale, and get to know the fascinating history of Ragusa Ibla.

Toronto, Canada to Catania is an approximately 13.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time to Central European Time is 6 hours. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) early enough to drive to Agrigento.

Historically one of ancient Greece's leading cities, Sicily's Agrigento is home to the seven monumental temples that make up the well-preserved Valley of the Temples.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): identify plant and animal life at Riserva Naturale Orientata Torre Salsa, then take in the dramatic natural features at Scala dei Turchi, and then explore the ancient world of Valle dei Templi.

You can drive from Catania to Agrigento in 2 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a train. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in June, and nighttime lows around 23°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Isola di Favignana.

Once famous for its white tuff shell quarries and tuna can factory--now turned into a museum--Isola di Favignana attracts divers and beachgoers with its jagged coastline rich in coves and caves.
On the 23rd (Tue), look for gifts at I Veri Sapori Favignanesi, see the interesting displays at Ex Stabilimento Florio delle Tonnare di Favignana e Formica, then enjoy the sand and surf at Spiaggia di Cala Rossa, and finally don't miss a visit to Grotte bue marino.

Do a combination of bus and ferry from Agrigento to Isola di Favignana in 4 hours. Traveling from Agrigento in June, Isola di Favignana is a bit cooler at night with lows of 19°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) to allow time to drive to Palermo.

The capital of Sicily, Palermo was founded by the Phoenicians under the name of Ziz.
Venture out of the city with trips to Spiaggia di San Vito lo Capo (in San Vito lo Capo), Duomo di Monreale (in Monreale) and Riserva Naturale Dello Zingaro (in Castellammare del Golfo). There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cattedrale di Palermo, indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour, admire the striking features of Palazzo Conte Federico, and steep yourself in history at Norman Palace.

You can drive from Isola di Favignana to Palermo in 3.5 hours. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
