Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. Visit Castle Stalker and Glenfinnan Viaduct for their historical value. You'll explore and learn at Oban War & Peace Museum and The Commando Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Fort William side-trips: Oban (McCaig's Tower & Oban Distillery). Next up on the itinerary: trek along Glencoe Lochan, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Ben Nevis, take in the dramatic scenery at Steall Waterfall, and admire the verdant scenery at Glencoe.
