A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
On the 28th (Fri), identify plant and animal life at Tres Palmas Marine Reserve and then go for a stroll along the water at Rincon Marina.

New York City, USA to Rincon is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of flight and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from New York City to Rincon. In June, Rincon is somewhat warmer than New York City - with highs of 89°F and lows of 81°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Ponce.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Start off your visit on the 29th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Calle 25 de Enero. Here are some ideas for day two: admire the striking features of Casa Wiechers-Villaronga, see the interesting displays at Parque de Bombas, then don't miss a visit to Plaza of Delights (Plaza de las Delicias), and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe.

You can drive from Rincon to Ponce in 1.5 hours. Another option is to do a combination of flight and shuttle. Traveling from Rincon in June, things will get a bit cooler in Ponce: highs are around 83°F and lows about 76°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Fajardo.

Fajardo is a small city and municipality in Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the east region of the island, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, north of Ceiba and east of Luquillo. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Icacos Island and Marina Puerto Del Rey. Step out of Fajardo with an excursion to El Yunque Rain Forest in El Yunque National Forest--about 46 minutes away. There's still lots to do: stop by Caribbean Trading Company Store, see the interesting displays at El Portal Tropical Forest Center, don't miss a visit to Bioluminescent Bay, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

Getting from Ponce to Fajardo by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: take a shuttle; or do a combination of car, flight, and shuttle. In July in Fajardo, expect temperatures between 88°F during the day and 79°F at night. You will leave for Isla de Vieques on the 4th (Thu).

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 4th (Thu), don't miss a visit to La Gran Ceiba de Vieques. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the waterfront views at Sun Bay, view the masterpieces at Gallery Galleon, then step off the mainland to explore Vieques Island, then delve into the distant past at El Hombre de Puerto Ferro, and finally enjoy some diversion at Vieques Gun Club & Sporting Clays.

You can ride a ferry from Fajardo to Isla de Vieques in 1.5 hours. In July, daytime highs in Isla de Vieques are 88°F, while nighttime lows are 79°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Sat) early enough to travel to Culebra.

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Culebrita Island and Museo Historico de Culebra. There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Flamenco Beach, visit a coastal fixture at Culebrita Lighthouse, tour the pleasant surroundings at Tamarindo Beach, and look for all kinds of wild species at Wildlife Areas.

Traveling by combination of car and flight from Isla de Vieques to Culebra takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can ride a ferry. July in Culebra sees daily highs of 90°F and lows of 80°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel back home.
