The allure of the beaches and the town's historical center draw visitors to Lagos, a coastal destination in the Barlavento region of the Algarve.
Visiting Ponta Da Piedale and Praia Dona Ana will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Praia Da Rocha and Lagos Farol da Ponta da Piedade. Change things up with these side-trips from Lagos: Arrifana Beach (in Aljezur), Odeceixe Beach (in Odeceixe) and Falesia Beach (in Olhos de Agua). Traveling from Evora in October, Lagos is a bit warmer at night with lows of 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Porto.

Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
On the next day, appreciate the extensive heritage of Largo da Oliveira, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Se de Braga, see the interesting displays at FC Porto Museum, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja do Carmo, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Igreja de Santo Antonio dos Congregados.
