The laidback town of Essaouira, known for its forceful trade winds, attracts Moroccan and foreign tourists alike with its sweeping beaches and atmospheric, labyrinthine medina, a World Heritage Site.

September in Essaouira sees daily highs of 78°F and lows of 64°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Marrakech.

You won't run out of things to do in Marrakech, a city where you can spend days exploring grandiose palaces and mosques, photogenic gardens, sacred tombs, and traditional mansions that evoke a bygone era.

When traveling from Essaouira in September, plan for a bit warmer days in Marrakech, with highs around 91°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 65°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 30th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
