Juodkrante

Juodkrantė with permanent population of about 720 people is a quiet Lithuanian seaside resort village located on the Curonian Spit. Do some cultural sightseeing at St. Jacob Apostle and Museum of Miniature Arts. Visiting Raganu Kalnas (Hill of Witches) and The Dead Dunes will get you outdoors. Kaunas

Situated between the Neris and Nemunas rivers, Kaunas is known for its old town, which, though smaller than the capital's, is in much better condition.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Devil's Museum and Stumbras Museum. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Ninth Fort and Kaunas Town Hall. There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Gertrude's Church, step into the grandiose world of Raudondvaris Dvaras, tour the pleasant surroundings at Aleksotas Hill, and wander the streets of Old Town Kaunas.

Drive from Kretinga to Kaunas in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. July in Kaunas sees daily highs of 27°C and lows of 15°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Vilnius.
