The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine, Pontocho, Gion, and other attractions you added. On the 25th (Mon), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: browse the eclectic array of goods at Nishiki Market Shopping District, step into the grandiose world of Nijo Castle, then steep yourself in history at Sagano, then admire nature's wide array of creatures at Monkey Park Iwatayama, and finally stop by Arashiyama.

Take a train from Nagoya to Kyoto in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 22°C. On the 27th (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Odawara.
