Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Tokyo National Museum and Fire Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Get some cultural insight at Hase-dera Temple and Yanaka. Get out of town with these interesting Tokyo side-trips: Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum (in Koganei), Minato Mirai 21 (in Yokohama) and Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple (in Narita). There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Nezu Shrine, admire the masterpieces at Nezu Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and take an in-depth tour of Kanda Myojin.

Santiago, Chile to Tokyo is an approximately 31-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Santiago to Tokyo is 13 hours. In March, plan for daily highs up to 17°C, and evening lows to 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sat) to allow enough time to take a train to Hiroshima.

You can take a train from Tokyo to Hiroshima in 4 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. In April in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 13°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to catch the train to Kyoto.
