You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Usuki Samurai House Streets and Sasamuta Shrine. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Yusuhara Hachiman Shrine and Sekizaki Lighthouse. Go for a jaunt from Oita to Usuki to see Nogami Yaeko Literature Museum about 48 minutes away. The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
On the 5th (Sun), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Shitsu Church, see the interesting displays at Endo Shusaku Literary Museum, steep yourself in history at Nyokodo, Nagai Takashi Museum, thensee the interesting displays at Nagasaki Shipyard Museum, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catholic Nakamachi Church. On the next day, steep yourself in history at Karematsu Shrine, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Ono Church, and then contemplate the long history of Higashiyamate Ko Jusanbankan.

The largest city on the island, Fukuoka formed through the merger of two former cities that had grown up either side of the Naka River.
You've now added Fukuoka Airport International Terminal Information Center to your itinerary. Visit Atago Jinja Shrine and Old Ito Denemon House for their historical value. Get a sense of the local culture at Catholic Imamura Church and Chikuzenmachi Tachiarai Peace Memorial Museum.
