Start off your visit on the 8th (Mon): explore the galleries of Mint Museum, see the interesting displays at Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, examine the collection at Cup Noodle Museum Osaka Ikeda, then soak in some Japanese tradition at Arima Onsen, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Nishinomiya Shrine. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Osaka Shiritsu Toyo Toji Museum, contemplate the long history of Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, appreciate the extensive heritage of Hozenji Yokocho, then wander the streets of Dotombori District, and finally shop like a local with Hankyu Umeda Honten.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Nijo Castle and Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kennin-ji Temple and Kamigamo Shrine. Step out of Kyoto to go to Uji and see Obakusan Manpuku - ji Temple, which is approximately 34 minutes away. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gio-ji Temple, steep yourself in history at Sagano, stop by Ippodo Tea Kyoto, and admire the striking features of Chishaku-in.

Take a train from Hiroshima to Kyoto in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 32°C in June, and nighttime lows around 22°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can catch the train to Tokyo.
