Tokyo holds the status of most populous metropolitan area in the world--a fact you'll find tangible as you walk the bustling streets and explore its diverse neighborhoods and cultures.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Tokyo National Museum and Edo-Tokyo Museum. Head to Ginza and Harajuku Takeshita-dorifor some retail therapy. There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Odaiba, take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, take in the spiritual surroundings of Senso-ji Temple, and get a taste of the local shopping with Asakusa.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to Tokyo is an approximately 14-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of flight and train. The time zone difference when traveling from Abu Dhabi to Tokyo is 5 hours. Plan for colder temperatures traveling from Abu Dhabi in March, with highs in Tokyo at 17°C and lows at 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Sat) so you can travel to Kyoto.

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Popular historic sites such as Nijo Castle and Sanjusangendo Temple are in your itinerary. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Gion and Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. Change things up with these side-trips from Kyoto: Nara (Todaiji Temple Cultural Center & Nara Park). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, admire the striking features of Jishu Shrine, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Heian Shrine.

Traveling by train from Tokyo to Kyoto takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or drive. In March, daytime highs in Kyoto are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Tue) to allow enough time to take a train to Hiroshima.

Start off your visit on the 27th (Wed): see the interesting displays at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, make a trip to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, then admire the masterpieces at Hiroshima Museum of Art, and finally step into the grandiose world of Hiroshima Castle. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: head off the coast to Miyajima and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Itsukushima Shrine.

Take a train from Kyoto to Hiroshima in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In March, plan for daily highs up to 16°C, and evening lows to 6°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 28th (Thu) early enough to travel to Ishigaki.

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Fri): kick back and relax at Fusaki Beach, explore the activities along Kabira Bay, and then kick back and relax at Yonehara Beach. On the next day, stroll through Shiraho Beach, then explore the fascinating underground world of Ishigaki Island Limestone Cave, then take an in-depth tour of Ishigaki Yaima Village, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Kondoi Beach.

Traveling by combination of train and flight from Hiroshima to Ishigaki takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly. When traveling from Hiroshima in March, plan for a bit warmer days and warmer nights in Ishigaki: temperatures range from 26°C by day to 21°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Sun) to allow time for travel back home.
