— 8 nights

Pearl of the Aegean

The birthplace of Homer, the ancient port city of Izmir boasts a colorful heritage that includes traces of Greek, Armenian, and Jewish cultures.
Get out of town with these interesting Izmir side-trips: Kusadasi (Hammam Kusadasi, Waterskiing & Jetskiing, &more), Temple of Apollo (in Didim) and Selcuk (Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House) & Aqua Fantasy- Aquapark Hotel & SPA). There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Kemeralti Market, make a trip to Tarihi Asansor, visit Alsancak, and take a leisurely stroll along Kordonboyu.

To find reviews, photos, ratings, and tourist information, refer to the Izmir attractions planning site.

Mardin to Izmir is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Traveling from Mardin in August, you will find days in Izmir are colder (28°C), and nights are little chillier (17°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) early enough to travel to Izmir.
