In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.

Once the most important harbor in the Mediterranean Sea, Genoa has a long history as a rich and powerful trade center in northern Italy.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at Baia del Silenzio, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Parrocchia Di San Martino, and then wander the streets of Boccadasse. Made up of five picturesque towns on the Ligurian coast, Cinque Terre is Italy's answer to the French Riviera.
Kick off your visit on the 25th (Sun): stroll through Levanto Beach, stroll through Footpath Monterosso - Vernazza, and then take a stroll around Vernazza. Here are some ideas for day two: stroll through Sun Beach and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Pista Ciclopedonale Levanto - Framura.

Getting from Genoa to Cinque Terre by train takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Genoa in August, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be slightly colder in Cinque Terre, with lows of 20°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 26th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Florence.

Explore hidden gems such as Duomo di Pisa and Basilica - Santuario di Santo Stefano. Florence Academy of Fine Arts and Pitti Palace will appeal to museum buffs. Venture out of the city with trips to Museo Ducati (in Borgo Panigale), Monteriggioni (Walls of Monteriggioni & Castello di Monteriggioni) and Torre del Mangia (in Siena).
