Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Tue): contemplate the long history of Colosseum, explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill, then steep yourself in history at Roman Forum, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Louis of the French. Keep things going the next day: admire the landmark architecture of Pantheon, admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain, then don't miss a visit to Vatican Museums, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Peter's Basilica.

Recife, Brazil to Rome is an approximately 15.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone changes from Brasilia Time to Central European Time, which is usually a 4 hour difference. Traveling from Recife in December, things will get cooler in Rome: highs are around 16°C and lows about 4°C.
