One of the country's major artistic and cultural centers, famed for its many annual festivals, Cork straddles the Lee River and boasts over 30 bridges.
Get a sense of the local culture at Cobh Cathedral and Cork City Gaol. Step off the beaten path and head to Spike Island and Charles Fort. There's lots more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Blarney Castle & Gardens, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Anne's Church, hunt for treasures at The English Market, and sample the fine beverages at Jameson Distillery Midleton.
