A picturesque village nestled in a green valley on the shores of a lake, Hohenschwangau receives nearly two million visitors every year.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Sat): steep yourself in history at Schloss Hohenschwangau and then contemplate the long history of Schloss Neuschwanstein. On the 20th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some serene contemplation at Wies Church, then admire the striking features of Andechs Monastery, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Marienmunster, and finally explore the activities along Alpseebad.

Groningen, Holland to Hohenschwangau is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. Plan for little chillier nights when traveling from Groningen in October since evenings lows in Hohenschwangau dip to 5°C. The country's capital and largest city, Berlin is a diverse urban center boasting a lively nightlife and countless things to do.
Kick off your visit on the 26th (Sat): contemplate the long history of East Side Gallery, pause for some photo ops at The Holocaust Memorial - Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, make a trip to Brandenburg Gate, then make a trip to Potsdamer Platz, and finally steep yourself in history at Memorial of the Berlin Wall.
