Most travelers take a trip to Bayeux to see the famed tapestry depicting the legendary Norman Conquest from the 11th century.
Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial de Caen are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Take a break from the city and head to Omaha Beach and Plages de Houlgate. Step out of Bayeux with an excursion to Cimetiere Militaire Allemand de La Cambe in La Cambe--about 34 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: take an in-depth tour of Musee de la Tapisserie de Bayeux, explore the different monuments and memorials at Bayeux War Cemetery, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedrale Notre-Dame, and get a taste of the local shopping with Normandie Savoir-Faire.

For reviews, ratings, other places to visit, and tourist information, read our Bayeux tour itinerary planning site .

Philadelphia, USA to Bayeux is an approximately 15-hour combination of train and flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Philadelphia to Bayeux. Traveling from Philadelphia in October, expect Bayeux to be slightly colder, temps between 62°F and 47°F.
