Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Kick off your visit on the 1st (Sat): delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill, then steep yourself in history at Colosseum, and then delve into the mystery of Catacombe di San Callisto. On the 2nd (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some serene contemplation at Pantheon, contemplate the long history of St. Peter's Basilica, then don't miss a visit to Piazza Navona, and finally steep yourself in history at Roman Forum.

Singapore, Singapore to Rome is an approximately 17-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. You'll gain 7 hours traveling from Singapore to Rome due to the time zone difference. Expect little chillier evenings in Rome when traveling from Singapore in July, with lows around 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to take a train to Florence.

Considered a cultural, artistic, and architectural jewel of Italy, Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): explore the world behind art at Pitti Palace, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza della Signoria, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza del Duomo, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at The Baptistery of St. John. Traveling by train from Rome to Florence takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or fly. Traveling from Rome in August, plan for slightly colder nights in Florence, with lows around 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 4th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Cannes.

Although its luxury shops, nightlife, casinos, and high-end restaurants give Cannes a feeling of exclusivity, this classic French Riviera city has alternatives to suit every budget.
Popular historic sites such as La Croisette and Clock Tower of Notre-Dame de l'Esperance are in your itinerary. Get some cultural insight at Le Sentier du Littoral, Cap d'Antibes and Musee du Parfum Fragonard. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cannes: Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate (in Nice) and Plage de Gigaro (in La Croix-Valmer). Next up on the itinerary: take a stroll through Rue d'Antibes and see the interesting displays at Chateau de la Napoule / Musee Henry-Clews.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Sat): step off the mainland to explore Île de la Cité, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse, then steep yourself in history at Eiffel Tower, and finally shop like a local with Champs-Elysees. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from Cannes in August: high temperatures in Paris hover around 29°C and lows are around 16°C.
